Our first Pound for a Purpose
at the Drummer Girls Studio is taking place
Sunday, August 10, 1-3 PM, at the Drummer Girls' Studio in Lapeer.
It features local author Wendy Byard
who will receive donations and
put sales of her novel toward her scholarship -The Invictus Student Writing Award - for a Lapeer graduating senior.

The novel Devil in the Dunes is a mystery set in West Michigan: Traverse City, Leland, Lake Michigan, Mackinac Island, and more!

Pound for a Purpose Program
Sunday, August 10, 1-3 PM
- 1-1:15 PM: Kim Adams introduces Pound for a Purpose - its overall mission - and Wendy Byard introduces her scholarship and speaks about her father, the inspiration.
- 1:15-1:45 PM: Fun, laid-back cardio drumming led by Kim Adams and set to a chosen playlist for the event. Two of Mark Stevens' favorite songs will be played! Someone special will bless the event!
- 1:45-2:15: Snacks, Drinks, Learning more about the Scholarship, and Book Signing
- 2:15-2:30: Prize giveaways
- 2:30-3 PM: Dance Party for a Purpose!
